Tyler was the absolute best! I’m from FL and it was my first time in Oregon, all I had was the idea to propose to my girlfriend and Tyler brought all of my ideas to life. Not only did he take photos but he helped me pick a location, got flowers for me and placed certain things where they needed to be.

During the shoot, he just let us have fun while also directing us to pose etc. He truly went above and beyond, we are so grateful. Tyler told us the pictures would be back to us in about a week but not even 3 days after our engagement we got all of them back! Thank you Tyler you brought my vision to life and made my fiancé happier than ever!!

I can’t thank Tyler enough for capturing our proposal. Everything about it was beautiful, the pictures look straight out of a movie, the views were everything.
He made us feel very comfortable and asked us if the poses we were doing were okay. Every time I look at our pictures I relive the beautiful moment. Thank you for capturing this beautiful moment once again! 🤍🥹
Tyler is amazing, we highly recommend him!

Nicolas & Jasmine | Daytona, Florida

Nic reached out to me in October through the contact form on my website, asking me to take photos of him proposing to his girlfriend Jasmine, during their trip to Lincoln City, Oregon in November.

He had designed a ring and was planning to propose somewhere on the beaches of the Oregon Coast. They already had the flights booked, and he was anxiously trying to plan out the best way to pop the question without his girlfriend catching on to anything.

Communication with Nic had to be discreet, and keeping this a surprise was our top priority. We decided that we would handle most of the communication through his mom’s phone, so that his girlfriend would have no clue this was going to happen. I sent several location ideas over to his mom - shoutout to Cathy - and then gave him the breakdown of the tides, waves and weather concerns for each area. The Oregon Coast is unpredictable at best, and having a back up plan is a must!

A proposal Story

Location is so important

The view needs to be great, and access needs to be seamless!

The Prep

Nic and I talked about what he had in mind for the proposal, and came up with some ideas that would fit the vibe of the relationship he shared with Jasmine. He wanted something EPIC in terms of scenery, but also something that was somewhat secluded and away from large crowds.

The great part about being a local on the Oregon Coast is that I spend all of my freetime exploring this incredible place - so I know a few spots!

Once Nic had thoroughly looked over his options, we eventually landed on The Cliffs in Depoe Bay - just about 20 minutes south of their AirBnB in Lincoln City. The perfect blend of seclusion, coastal drama, and epic views!

One hell of a view right?

The Plan

The proposal was set to take place on the last day of Nic and Jasmine’s trip. Luckily, the weather was lining up perfectly for a super moody Oregon Coast proposal. Exactly how I like them!

Nic and I talked multiple times over the new few weeks, exchanging ideas and making sure that the details were going to all fall into place. I was impressed with the amount of work he was willing to put in to make this a truly special proposal that Jasmine would never forget!

Every proposal is different, but something I have found helpful is to mark the spot of the proposal with a bouquet of flowers. It’s simple and super effective. Some people go all out for the big MARRY ME letters, rose petals and a red carpet… but that’s impossible to keep discreet. Nic knew exactly where to drop to a knee, and more importantly, he knew that I would be watching.

Day of: Communication

The most important part of the entire process!

The Big Day

The day of the proposal arrived. I was getting ready to make the drive to Depoe Bay, when Nic’s mom, Cathy, called me. Their rental car had a flat tire and they were still waiting on a repair! We still had several hours until the proposal, but we quickly came up with a backup plan just in case things didn’t work out. About an hour before Nic & Jasmine needed to be on the road, their rental car was fixed and everything fell back into place. I can only imagine the panic that was running through Nic’s mind that morning!

I got to the spot early with the flowers and marked the spot for Nic, then found my hiding place. The rain had stopped right as I arrived, and things were lining up perfectly.

Just like we had planned, Nic shared his location with me once he hit the road. I watched him drive down Highway 101 and make the turn into the access point for The Cliffs. Camera in hand and the bouquet of flowers marking the spot, I sat and waited for him to show up. They walked down the stairs hand in hand, headed straight for the cliff.

The Proposal

As they walked towards the flowers, I could see the excitement on Nic’s face. He had planned the entire trip from the other side of the country and it had all fallen into place perfectly. It was a total surprise, and Jasmine had no idea what was happening.

He dropped to a knee - with perfect form - and began to read a letter he had written to her. With a gold band from his grandmother’s ring, a gorgeous new diamond, and all the love they had created in their relationship, he asked her to marry him.

It was no surprise that she said “YES!” I’ve been a part of many proposals at this point, but sometimes you just know when two people are meant to be together. Jasmine was ecstatic, and Nic was looking up at the love of his life, with the most incredible backdrop he could have imagined right behind her.

He had pulled off the perfect proposal.
